OrderTrust and Open Market Integrate Order Processing Services with TransactTM
Enterprise Application for Entertainment-On-Demand Service.

Lowell, MA., Culver City, CA., and Burlington, MA., March 1, 1999OrderTrust, the leading order processing network, and Open Market Inc. (NASDAQ: OMKT), a leading provider of Internet commerce and information publishing software, today announced that they have co-developed an e-commerce solution for Intertainer Inc., the only interactive broadband network providing entertainment-on-demand to both the cable and telco industries. The solution provides Intertainer with a video-based electronic commerce service supporting pay-per-view and interactive shopping.

The jointly developed solution combines the key strengths of OrderTrust’s robust and scalable order processing network with Open Market’s Transact, the award-winning secure Internet commerce packaged application.

"A seamless, interactive e-commerce experience is a critical component in delivering a robust range of entertainment content and leisure activities on-demand to Intertainer’s subscribers," said Jonathan Taplin, CEO and co-founder of Intertainer. "Buyers and sellers need a high level of confidence in the Intertainer e-commerce purchase process. Open Market and OrderTrust provide us the right mix of tools for the kind of safe, accurate transactions that inspire such confidence."

"Open Market’s Transact provides enterprises with the tools to build a powerful and secure e-commerce solution," stated Jim Daniell, CEO of OrderTrust. "The addition of OrderTrust’s services creates one of the most comprehensive interactive broadband commerce solutions available today. Companies like Intertainer can easily manage dozens, even hundreds, of points of sale and supply, enabling them to offer their customers a wider product set as well as deliver world-class customer service."

The solution delivered by the two companies solves some of the major challenges facing companies selling via e-commerce, including how to effectively access and manage multiple points of supply. Open Market worked closely with OrderTrust to integrate Transact’s secure order management and transaction processing capabilities, including the unique ability to capture micro-transactions, with OrderTrust’s ability to route orders to multiple points of supply. This means that Transact will process orders for the Intertainer service while OrderTrust will manage those orders with several different fulfillers/drop shippers.

Gary Eichhorn, Open Market’s president and CEO, stated, "Combining the strengths of Open Market’s Transact as a flexible and open application with OrderTrust’s extensive order processing network gives Intertainer the power to provide a highly scalable, distributed Internet-commerce environment. Transact’s unique architecture meets Intertainer’s need for rapid integration with complex, back end systems like the OrderTrust order processing network."
