AT&T and OrderTrust To Provide Enhanced Order Processing Services To Online Merchants

NEW YORK - April 27, 1998 - AT&T (NYSE: T) and OrderTrust today announced a co-marketing agreement to offer customers access to their respective services. Customers using AT&T SecureBuy SM Service can now gain access to the OrderTrust order processing network and reciprocally, OrderTrust customers can easily gain access to AT&T SecureBuy Service. Together, the companies' respective services can provide online merchants with the ability to securely process credit card transactions, manage complex order routing, tracking and the sourcing of products from multiple fulfillment centers.

The agreement between the two companies will give merchants using AT&T SecureBuy Service and the OrderTrust order processing services stronger inventory support, enabling them to route orders to multiple fulfillment partners in their native formats and communication protocols and automatically process status updates from those fulfillment partners back into the AT&T SecureBuy Service. Through OrderTrust, AT&T SecureBuy merchants can now easily and quickly offer products from more sources to their customers, without having to manage the complexity of order processing and intricacies of technical integration.

OrderTrust customers using AT&T SecureBuy Service will have access to AT&T SecureBuy Service features including a catalog development tool, the back-office infrastructure required to electronically process credit card transactions online and high-speed links to two of the leading credit card processing services. Security technologies include an encryption-protected server, secure socket layer technology and firewalls, as well as custom challenge questions that allow access to authorized users only.

"This represents the first time the market has seen both a strong 'front-office' and 'back-office' commerce solution linked together," states Mark Milne, vice-president of marketing at OrderTrust, "Now, merchants who have been hesitant to engage in online commerce, have a secure and robust solution for all the marketing and operational processes needed to effectively sell product online."

"By combining the features of AT&T SecureBuy Service with OrderTrust's order processing network, we can provide merchants with a simple way to manage one of the most complex components of supporting a product-rich Web site: sourcing products from multiple fulfillment centers," said Gary Hickox, Global Marketing vice-president, AT&T Networked Commerce Services. "Merchants will have a seamless way to route order information from their storefront to product sourcing locations around the world."

To support the AT&T and OrderTrust co-marketing initiative, both companies will work together to promote the combined services offering to potential customers through a direct mail campaign and joint trade show activities. Each company will be responsible for contracting and implementing its respective services with merchants. The services will be available immediately.
