ORDERTRUST APPOINTS CHRISTOPHER LONG
VICE PRESIDENT OF OFFER MARKETING

LOWELL, Mass., July 7, 1999 -- OrderTrust, provider of integrated order management services for e-commerce, announced today the appointment of Christopher Long to the position of vice president of offer marketing. In this position, Long will be responsible for directing OrderTrust’s market segment strategy and developing compelling service packages to meet the needs of each target segment. Prior to joining OrderTrust, Long was director of e-commerce at Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS), where he defined, developed and launched business-to-business e-commerce ordering applications for Staples’ Contract and Commercial Division.

"Chris’ proven talents and experience in developing e-commerce solutions for major retailers bring tremendous value to OrderTrust," said Jim Daniell, CEO of OrderTrust. "He has first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced by companies selling online. As the Internet gains even greater momentum as a sales channel, our ability to deliver service solutions specific to the needs of each segment of the online commerce market will be key to driving the growth of our business. The addition of Chris to our senior management team brings us one step closer to delivering those solutions."

During Long’s two years at Staples, Inc., the largest reseller of office supplies in the United States, he served as director of electronic commerce and developed the company’s first Internet-based electronic commerce portal site. His responsibilities included the development and implementation of the retailer’s business-to-business e-commerce strategy, general management of the company’s e-commerce product line, development of software and end-user training materials, and implementation of numerous e-commerce applications.

"OrderTrust’s order-management network offers a truly unique solution with a very strong value proposition," said Long. "By developing a network that intelligently manages information throughout the order lifecycle and scales seamlessly to meet the growing needs of businesses, OrderTrust has taken the worry out of the e-commerce back-end for companies selling online. I’m very excited about packaging our services to meet the needs of specific segments, thereby increasing market penetration and further driving the company’s growth."

Prior to his position at Staples, Long served as president of Text Express, Inc., a mail order reseller of textbooks through catalogs and the Internet. Earlier in his career, Long spent three years at Hamilton Consultants, Inc. of Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he was a management consultant focusing on strategy and product development for clients in the electronic media, telecommunications and publishing industries. Long graduated from Harvard University with a master of business administration degree and holds a bachelor of science degree from Harvard College.
